What is Motiweights?
Motiweights is an AI-powered fitness tracking app that automatically counts your reps and tracks your workouts. Unlike traditional fitness apps that require manual input between sets, Motiweights uses your device’s sensors and machine learning to detect and log your exercises automatically, letting you focus entirely on your training.
How is Motiweights different from other workout apps?
Automatic Tracking: Most apps require you to manually log every rep and set. Motiweights does this automatically using AI.
Intelligence: Our app learns from your training and adapts your programs based on your progress, not just following a static template.
Simplicity: No complicated interfaces or endless logging. Just train, and we handle the data.
Privacy-First: We never record videos or photos of you. All motion analysis happens on-device using sensor data.
Do I need any special equipment?
No special equipment is required beyond your smartphone. Motiweights works with:
- Barbells and dumbbells
- Machines
- Resistance bands
- Bodyweight exercises
- Any other standard gym equipment
Optional: An Apple Watch or compatible fitness tracker can enhance the experience but isn’t required.
Is Motiweights suitable for beginners?

Features and Functionality
How does the automatic rep counting work?
Motiweights uses your phone’s camera to track your body pose and movements during exercises. Our computer vision AI analyzes your body position in real-time to count repetitions accurately.
How it works:
- Our AI suggests exercises based on your workout program
- Position your phone’s camera to see your body during the exercise
- Confirm which exercise you’re performing
- Our AI tracks key body points (joints, limbs) as you move
- The system counts each complete repetition automatically
The video is processed in real-time and is never recorded or stored - only the rep counts are saved to your workout log.
What exercises can Motiweights track?
Motiweights supports common strength training exercises with camera-based tracking:
Barbell Movements:
- Squats (back, front, overhead)

- Deadlifts (conventional, Romanian, sumo)

How it works: Our AI automatically suggests exercises based on your workout program and goals. When you start tracking a set, you confirm which exercise you’re performing, and the camera-based AI counts your reps.
Note: Fully automatic exercise detection (without confirmation) may be added in future updates.
Can I create my own workout programs?
Yes! While we provide AI-generated programs, you can also:
- Create fully custom workouts from scratch
- Modify our suggested programs
- Save your favorite workout templates
- Share programs with friends or training partners
- Import programs from other sources
Does Motiweights work offline?
Currently, an internet connection is required for camera-based pose tracking and rep counting to work. The AI processing needs to communicate with our servers for real-time analysis.
What requires internet:
- Camera-based rep counting (the main tracking feature)
- Syncing workout data
- Loading exercise videos
Offline mode is planned for a future update, which will allow you to:
- Track workouts without internet
- Sync data when you reconnect
- Download content for offline access
For now, you’ll need WiFi or mobile data while working out.
Can I track cardio or other activities?
Currently, Motiweights is optimized for strength training. We track:
- Resistance training
- Weight lifting
- Bodyweight exercises
Cardio tracking and other activity types are on our roadmap for future updates. For now, we recommend using Motiweights alongside other apps if you do significant cardio training.
What analytics and insights does Motiweights provide?

Is there a free trial for Premium?
Yes! New users get a 14-day free trial of Premium with no credit card required. You can explore all features before deciding to subscribe.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Absolutely. You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time:
- Cancel through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
- Your Premium features remain active until the end of your billing period
- After cancellation, you automatically revert to the free version
- Your data is never deleted—you just lose access to Premium features
What happens to my data if I stop using Premium?
Nothing! Your workout data is always yours. If you cancel Premium:
- All your workout history remains accessible
- You can still track new workouts with basic features
- You lose access to Premium-only features (advanced analytics, etc.)
- You can resubscribe anytime to regain Premium features
Do you offer student or military discounts?
Yes! We offer 50% off Premium subscriptions for:
- Students (with valid .edu email or student ID)
- Active military members
- Veterans

Privacy and Security
What data does Motiweights collect?
We collect only what’s necessary to provide our service:
- Workout data (exercises, reps, sets, weights)
- Basic profile information (age, weight, fitness goals)
- Movement metrics from camera analysis (joint positions, rep counts)
- Optional: progress photos you choose to upload
We do NOT collect:
- Video recordings of you working out (video is processed in real-time only, never stored)
- Photos or videos during workouts
- Location data
- Contact lists
- Browsing history
- Any data unrelated to fitness training
Do you share my data with third parties?
No. We never sell your personal data to third parties. The only data sharing that occurs:
- Anonymized, aggregated data for research (no personally identifiable info)
- Health app integration if you enable it (Apple Health, Google Fit)
- Social features if you explicitly choose to share workouts
You have full control over what, if anything, is shared.
How is my data secured?
Your data security is our top priority:
- All data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- All data encrypted at rest in our databases
- Secure authentication (OAuth 2.0)

Can I delete my account and data?

Do you record videos of me working out?
No! While Motiweights uses your camera to track your pose, the video feed is processed in real-time only and never recorded or stored.
Here’s what happens:
- Your camera captures video to track body movements
- AI analyzes the video stream to count reps
- Only rep counts and movement metrics are saved
- The video itself is immediately discarded (not stored)
Think of it like a video call - the camera is active, but nothing is being recorded. You’re never recorded during workouts.

- Limited functionality compared to mobile apps
Do I need an Apple Watch or fitness tracker?
No, but it enhances the experience. Motiweights works great with just your smartphone. However, if you have:
- Apple Watch
- Wear OS smartwatch
- Other compatible fitness tracker
You can control workouts from your wrist, get haptic feedback, and potentially improve tracking accuracy.
How much storage does the app require?
Initial Download:
- iOS: ~150 MB
- Android: ~120 MB
With Usage:
- Workout data is minimal (text and numbers)
- Exercise videos are streamed when needed
- Progress photos vary based on how many you take
Most users find the app uses 200-300 MB total storage.
Does Motiweights drain my phone battery?
We’ve optimized Motiweights for battery efficiency:
- Typical 60-minute workout uses 5-10% battery
- No background tracking when app is closed
- Minimal impact on battery when not actively working out
Battery usage is comparable to using a music streaming app during workouts.
Troubleshooting
The app isn’t counting my reps correctly. What should I do?
Try these steps:
Ensure proper phone placement: Keep your phone in your pocket or on a stable surface near you. Movement should be detectable but phone should move with your body.
Calibrate for your exercise: The first time you do an exercise, manually confirm the rep count. The AI learns and improves accuracy.
Check exercise selection: Make sure you’ve selected the correct exercise. A squat pattern is different from a deadlift pattern.
Update the app: Ensure you’re running the latest version with the newest recognition models.
Contact support: If problems persist, email [email protected] with details about the exercise and we’ll help troubleshoot.
My workout data isn’t syncing between devices.
Check these common issues:
- Internet connection: Ensure both devices have internet access
- Logged into same account: Verify you’re using the same account on both devices
- Force sync: Pull down on the workout history screen to manually trigger sync
- Restart app: Close and reopen the app on both devices
- Check for updates: Ensure both devices have the latest app version
If issues persist after trying these steps, contact support.
I can’t log in to my account.
Forgot password:
- Tap “Forgot Password” on login screen
- Enter your email address
- Check email for reset link
- Create new password
Other login issues:
- Verify you’re using the correct email address
- Check your internet connection
- Try restarting the app
- Contact support if you still can’t access your account
The app crashed or froze during my workout.
Don’t worry—your workout data is saved!
- Force close the app
- Reopen Motiweights
- Your workout should be recovered automatically
- If not, check “Workout History” for the partial workout

How do I start my first workout?
- Complete onboarding: Enter your basic information (goals, experience level)
- Choose a program: Select a pre-made program or create your own
- Start workout: Tap “Start Workout” from home screen
- Follow the program: App guides you through each exercise
- Train: Perform your sets—reps are counted automatically
- Finish: Tap “End Workout” to save everything
What information do I need to provide when signing up?
